Contractual confidentiality is another way of protecting software. A typical software license grants an end-user permission to use one or more copies of software in ways where such a use would otherwise constitute copyright infringement of the software owner's exclusive rights under copyright law.

The Recycle Bin only stores files deleted from hard drives, not from removable media, such as memory cards and floppy disks. It also doesn't store files deleted from network drives.

record spreadsheet

A spreadsheet is a computer application that simulates a paper, accounting worksheet. It displays multiple cells usually in a two-dimensional matrix or grid consisting of rows and columns. Each cell contains alphanumeric text, numeric values or formulas.

query

a query that a user enters into web search engine to satisfy his or her information needs. Web search queries are distinctive in that they are unstructured and often ambiguous; they vary greatly from standard query languages which are governed by strict syntax rules.

primary key

The primary key of a relational table uniquely identifies each record in the table. It can either be a normal attribute that is guaranteed to be unique such as Social Security Number in a table with no more than one record per person or it can be generated by the DBMS such as a globally unique identifier, or GUID, in Microsoft SQL Server. Primary keys may consist of a single attribute or multiple attributes in combination.

presentation software

A presentation program is a computer software package used to display information, normally in the form of a slide show. It typically includes three major functions: an editor that allows text to be inserted and formatted, a method for inserting and manipulating graphic images and a slide-show system to display the content.

Object Linking and Embedding (OLE)

OLE is a framework developed by Microsoft way back in Windows 3.1 that allows you to take objects from a document in one application and place them in another. For example, OLE may allow you to move an image from a photo-editing program into a word processing document.

object

an object is any entity that can be manipulated by the commands of a programming language, such as a value, variable, function, or data structure. With the later introduction of object-oriented programming the same word, "object", refers to a particular instance of a class.
